Bad Hindelang

Bad Hindelang is located at 825 metres altitude in the Oberallgäu, in the most southern tip of Germany, and close to the border with Austria. The health and spa resort, known for its Kneipp treatments, was officially recognised as such in 2002, by now being allowed to add the word "Bad" (bath) to it's name (formerly only Hindelang). Many people with allergies come here, to Germany's only high Alpine treatment centre, to be cured of their ailments. Historically, the resorts is more renowned for being the passage way to the Joch passage, over which salt was transported from Tyrol to Lake Constance over many hundred years. Further, traditional crafts, such as sleigh builders, shingle-maker or hammer smiths can still be found here. Thanks to the easy-going character of the locals, stress is almost an unknown word here - you surely have nothing standing in your way here for a relaxing holiday.

Allgäu

The Allgäu is part of the region Oberschwaben and stretches from the south-western part of Bavaria to the south-eastern part of Baden-Württemberg and partly along the borders of Austria. It is situated right between lower Alps and the Bavarian hill country. With an altitude of up to 2,657 m the Allgäu offers the Nebelhorn as the highest and most well-known mountain of this area. It is not for nothing that this is one of the most popular tourist areas and main winter sports regions within Germany. For Alpine skiers there is a large offer of well-prepared pistes - both for beginners, as well for more experienced winter sports fans. Many of the slopes can be covered with artificial snow and offer reliability for skiing until the end of March. After a day on the pistes you can meet up in the many huts, cafés and pubs or even spend the night in the local clubs.
