Ski vacations Bansko - skiing in the national park!

Bansko

Bansko is situated approx. 150 km from the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, and has become the most famous and modern winter sports centre in Eastern Europe within the past few years. 48 kilometres of piste and 15 lifts, reaching an altitude of 2,560, promise an unforgettable ski holiday. This ski area is recommended for leisurely skiers who enjoy skiing on uncomplicated pistes.

However, one piste is also recommended for experts: the Alberto Tomba run, which was christened by the slalom idol, is always excellently prepared and excites experienced skiers. A fun park and half-pipe await snowboarders and free-style skiers.

Bansko is also great for families, as a ski kindergarten for children aged 4-7 years is located directly at the mountain station. There they can learn to ski or simply play. Although tourism has dramatically increased in Bansko in the past few years and the needs of all are provided fore, the idyllic landscape has been retained through the Pirin National Park and offers a lovely contrast.

Pirin

The Pirin mountains are found on the edge of the Rhodopen, in Bulgaria's southwestern corner. The imposing mountains reach up to 2,914 m in altitude and offer a fantastic view of the surrounding Pirin peaks. With numerous lakes, many waterfalls, hidden caves and peaceful forests, the mountains offer a diverse and unique landscape. Due to this beauty and distinctive features, Pirin is not just the largest and most attractive national park in Bulgaria; rather, it has also been declared a UNESCO world cultural heritage.
