Ski area Ski Juwel

Due to the interconnection of the ski areas Wildschönau and Alpachtal, accessible with the in 2012 constructed gondola, the lift pass "Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau" offers a total of 113 km of piste including ski routes. With this lift pass you have access to the ski areas Markbachjoch/Lanerköpfl, Oberau, Thierbach, Schatzberg, as well as Kramsach, Reither Kogel and Wiedersberger Horn. This sums up to a total of 45 possible access points located between 690 and 2,025 m altitude! Various levels of difficulties ensure that beginners, as well as pros can really enjoy themselves here.

Families and pleasure skiers will most enjoy Schatzberg and Reither Kogel, where the little one's are in good hands in Bodo's children's club! Ambitious skiers can swing down the northern mountain side of the Markbachjoch and Lanerköpfl, as well as speed through various deep powder snow areas and free rider areas with 16 km of marked ski routes.

The various slopes can be reached comfortably with the free ski bus. For freestylers, the snow park on the Wiedersberger Horn, the fun park on the Schatzberg and the racing and training centre in Niederau offer plenty of fun and action.

For the 10th anniversary of Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau, the new Hornbahn 2000 will start in winter 22/23, taking you to the highest point of the ski area in under 4 minutes. The new mountain station of the Hornbahn 2000 is also a real highlight: The 360° viewpoint "Top of Alpbachtal" offers unique panoramas of the Tyrolean mountains.

Want to share your photos with your favorite people or make plans for après ski? No problem: thanks to the 20 "Hot Zones" spread out amongst the ski area, you can make use of the area's free Wi-Fi and stay connected!

Those, looking for some more diversity can upgrade the lift pass to the "SuperSkiCard" (see Ski Region). You can access 22 ski regions in Tyrol and Salzburg, with 2,780 km of pistes, accessible via 934 lifts. Unlimited skiing fun!

Night skiing Oberau

If you want to go skiing at night time, the ski area Ski Juwel is one of the best night skiing areas in Austria. At Reither Kogel in Reith, there are 3 illuminated pistes with a total length of approx. 6 km. The lifts Reitherkogelbahn, Nordlift and Brandachlift are operating for night skiing every Friday and Saturday from 18:30 - 21:15. Additionally, the family piste is illuminated for ski touring every Tuesday at the same time, the lifts, however, are not open then. In Wildschönau nearby Oberaus, the Roggenboden ski area offers night skiing and night tobogganing on two broad pistes with snowmaking system on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 19:30 - 21:00. The tickets for night skiing in Reith and Roggenboden can each be acquired in resort.

Après ski Oberau

Oberau is a great starting point for skiers who, in addition to skiing, also want a relaxing holiday. The bars and gasthofs in the resort indulges you to relax and enjoy a good meal and drink after a long day on the slopes.

From the 2016/2017 season, winter sports fans can look forward to the "Norderbergalm" ski hut at Markbachjoch. Here you a well cared for with hot and cold drinks and regional dishes.

Those who don't want to opt out on good aprés ski can take the comfortable "Nightliner" to the resorts of Wildschönau, to enjoy and take part in the varied nightlife offered. Among others, the "Bobo's-Heustadl-Bar" or the "Schnapshütte" at the Markbachjohn valley station as well as the "Gruttn Stadl" at the Schatzbergbahn valley station are good choices for hungry and thirsty skiers.

Still haven't had enough of snow-fun after a day in the slopes? In the town district of Roggenboden, night-tobogganing and night skiing regularly take place.

If you prefer a more laid-back and romantic evening, you shouldn't miss a stroll after sunset in the "Geheimnisvolle Schlucht" (mysterious ravine) with a torchlight hike and mulled wine. Enchanted horse-sleigh-rides are not uncommon here, and can turn your winter holiday into quite an extraordinary experience.

Snowpark: Family Snowpark Wildschönau Oberau

The ski area "Ski Juwel Alpbachtal Wildschönau" not only boasts beautiful slopes, but also deserves its name in terms of freestyle. For pros and beginners there is a Snowpark waiting on the Schatzberg. For beginners there are two boxes, a 6 m kicker and a wave course in the "Family Snowpark Wildschönau". Too boring? Then maybe the bigger versions are just right for you. The 8 m straight, curved and kinked boxes make the hearts of adrenaline junkies beat faster. To complete the perfect equipment, a 90 m long half pipe and a kicker with a 14 m table have also found their place in the park. However, in the "Family Snowpark Wildschönau" not only fun, but also company is very important.

Another park, the Snowpark Alpbachtal with Easy as well as Pro Kickers and Boxes can be found on the Wiedersberger Horn. It is also perfectly suited for families and beginners.

If you are looking for the absolute kick, you should definitely find your way to the "Race and Training Centre" in Niederau to make completely new experiences at the tennis shop slope, where many racing careers have already started. Want to get in the mood? Then let's go to the places where beginners and pros take the reins! Here you will find a racing track, a special carving zone and a giant slalom track.
