With the "Zillertaler Superskipass" you can choose from 542 kilometres of piste in the Zillertal Arena, by the Mayrhofen lifts, in the Ski and Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000, as well as in the ski area Hochzillertal – Hochfügen – Spieljoch, and the Wildkogel-Arena at Bramberg. The ski areas are all excellently linked to one another by a free train and bus shuttle. Since a few years, the Zillertal Arena offers free-of-charge Wi-Fi in all of its ski areas! In other words, not only can you enjoy the white bliss and the sun, but also share your latest experiences and highlights directly with your loved ones at home (see ski region).

From Kaltenbach you have easy access to the ski area "Ski-optimal Hochzillertal-Hochfügen-Speiljoch". Since the new connection between the ski areas of Hochfügen, Hochzillertal and Spieljoch (via ski bus) there is now a total of 110 km of piste (incl. ski routes) available. The valley station Hochfügen is at an altitude of 1,500 m, guaranteeing that ski-fanatics have total snow reliability up to the end of April. The upper valley is great for skiers seeking a ski area for all ability levels. The new lifts grant access to a glorious skiing terrain reaching altitudes of 2,360 m.

Since December 2018, the new 10-seater gondola lift Wimbachexpress has replaced the old 4-seater chairlift Krössbichl. The new mountain station houses the exclusive Italian restaurant Albergo and is located around 180 m higher, creating more runs. In addition, a new peak-to-peak ski area connection from the Hochzillertal-Hochfügen ski area to the Spieljoch is being planned.

Night skiing Kaltenbach - Ried - Stumm

When it comes to night skiing, Kaltenbach is the number one place to go in Zillertal. In the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski area, the well-known slope "Stephan-Eberharter-Goldpiste" is illuminated once per week. The 5 km valley run leads from the middle station to the valley station of Hochzillertal gondola. Night owls can enjoy the red piste in the extended opening hours from 19:00 - 22:00 from January to March. Lack of snow is no problem: the whole piste can be covered in artifical snow. Another piste for skiing until night-time can be found at the Lamark lifts in Hochfügen. Here, the night skiing slope is illuminated for night skiers until 22:00. Additionally, a ski show is performed several times in the season. The free ski bus takes night skiing fans from Kaltenbach to the access point of the night ski area.

Après ski Kaltenbach - Ried - Stumm

The après ski Mecca of Hochzillertal has so much to offer with respect to a successful day on the piste. Rustic and cosy huts can be found all along the pistes. Just relax sitting at the fire place or lounging on a deck chair. Especially extravagant is a break in the "Kristallhütte" or "Wedelhütte". Later on, you can go and enjoy a traditional "Jagertee" or mulled wine in the "Postalm" or at "sChic Bar", directly at the valley station Hochzillertal. In the evening, the action starts in the pubs and clubs, where the partying and socializing goes on until the early hours! Every Wednesday and Friday you can hit the slopes at night, taking the valley run home until 22:00.

In the evening, toboggan races by torchlight are offered, or perhaps go on a romantic walk by lantern light. You can also spoil yourself in the many restaurants and taverns of the village. A culinary highlight of the ski area Kaltenbach-Hochzillertal are the crystal huts, which can be found in the mountain station Kristall-Express at an altitude of 2,150 m and offer you young, creative cuisine at attractive prices. Fresh, regional products are served. In the inner huts, you can find an open fireplace as well as quaint parlours, and nice weather providing, a bar-adjacent sun terrace with lounge chairs and water beds can be enjoyed. In addition, since the winter season 2013/2014, a wine cellar has been added.

If you want to remain active off the pistes you'll have fun swimming, ice-skating, bowling, snowshoe hiking and tobogganing – in Kaltenbach (almost) anything is possible! A trip to Fügen, to the "Erlebnistherme Zillertal" (thermal baths) is also recommendable. Here the little ones can enjoy themselves on the 133 m long activity slide - the longest in western Austria.

Snowpark: Betterpark Kaltenbach - Ried - Stumm

The "Betterpark" Hochzilltertal is located in close proximity to the "Schnee Express" 8-person chairlift at an altitude between 2,050 - 2,120 m in the ski area Hochzillertal - Kaltenbach.

The park-own lift takes you comfortably and directly to the top, so that you can move over to the next ride. Three lines with different levels of difficulty can be found in the park, where beginners, intermediates and pros can test their talent on kickers and other things. Another delicacy is the jib line that awaits you with various boxes. A further highlight is the XL - Kicker that promises a great show, if watching from the chairlift and the 100 m long super pipe that is located slightly underneath the park at an altitude of 1,950 m. The new "Snowpark Lamark" near the Lamark lift was introduced in December 2016, and is composed of three lines with 13 elements, of which caters to all levels of difficulty and provides plenty of fun!

The chill area with container, sun bed and the perfect sound system invites you after a long freestyle day or when taking a break. In the entire Zillertal there are a number of further snow parks to burn off steam, e.g. in Mayrhofen, Gerlos or at the Hintertuxer glacier.
