In Gelos valley, a quiet side valley to Zillertal, fans of Nordic skiing will find several wonderful cross-country ski trails at all levels of difficulty surrounding the Zillertal Arena ski area. The easy to intermediate trails in and around Gerlos are perfect for beginners and leisure cross-country skiers. More ambitious Nordic skiers should try the high-altitude trails at Gerlossteinplatte, in Hochkrimml and in Königsleiten ski area, which run on an altitude of over 2,000 m. An illuminated cricuit trail in the resort district of Wald is available every evening. In Zell am Ziller, the Zillertal Arena's cross-country ski network is connected to the approx. 30 km trails in and around Mayrhofen. Like this, fans of Nordic skiin can look forward to a large cross-country ski area with various levels of difficulty and wonderful panoramic views.
